More on Etsy

I just added 3 more items to my Etsy store. I just finished picking out fabric for 3 more rag balls. I'm kind of getting into it. I knitted up a little bag and am having a hard time letting it go. Here is a picture of my first attempt at knitted purses.

I made it with 3/4" fabric strips knitted on 15 circular needles.

I'm Back!

Hi all. Sorry I have been gone for so long. I have been dealing with depression over financial ruin. Yah, things are a little rough right now. The store is slow, my house.. well I'm hoping Washington Mutual lets me keep it. I'm looking for ways to make money on the internet. I have opened an store with Etsy.com. I don't have any products yet.. I'm working on the picture taking aspects. I'm not very good at it as yet. Here is an example:
Charms on point quilts 001 It is a little fuzzy. I'm working on it. If you have not seen Etsy.com's website you need to check it out. Etsy.com. It is a great place to sell things you make yourself. My etsy store will be named "away in the woods" . I'll let you know when it is up and running. Later for now..

On to Idaho

We spent the night in Baker City last night. Not a bad little town. Lots of history. We left early this morning driving through the rest of Oregon. Sorry to say, Oregon is not that pretty here. Just sage brush and brown hills. Then it got flat. Really  flat. Oh, I forgot to tell you. We are traveling on what was the Oregon Trail. It was interesting to see what the travelers in covered wagons went through to get to Oregon. We passed through a town called Ontario. Ash and I decided that is were the quitters settled. We didn't stop there to say the least. As we passed through Oregon it started to rain big time. You can hardly see the welcome to Idaho sign.
Welcomeidaho
As soon as it started it stopped. The clouds were beautiful the rest of the way.
So, now we are in Ogden. I have to say it is a really pretty place. On one side are these enormous mountains and the city is tucked up against it. then there is a valley filled with green farm land.
However, it is hot. We are staying at the Marriott and have to say.. nice beds for a change.
Well, not much else to report. We are off to High Desert Helicopters tomorrow. More pictures tomorrow night... later!

Road Trip day 2

We set off for Precision flight school today in Newberg, Oregon.
Here a picture of the front of the school.Precision_office
We met a flight instructor named Jeff who took Ash on a "discovery flight"
Not much to see here, but they are in the helicopter about ready to take off.

Ok, here is Ash after the flight.. he did really well. Jeff said he was suprise at how fast Ash picked it up.
That's my boy!

He looks right at home. I hope he learns to fly a bigger helicopter if he wants to give me any rides.
Here is the maintence hanger. Boy was it clean!

Ok, on to Utah. Here we are still in Oregon but we found these enormous tree farms as far as you could see. The trees were called "pacific albus". This was out in the middle of nowhere. It was dry, flat and hot.. and then there were all these trees. We thought is was neat.

Don't look that big from this picture but they were very tall and dense. Ok so you had to be there!
Back in Newberg we took a drive to a little town called Yamhill. There wasn't much there except I did manage to find a quilt shop out in the middle of nowhere at farm house. There were lots of other ranches and farms all around. Unfortantly they were not open. Darn!

Ok that's all for now.. time for bed.

Road Trip

Hi everyone, I'm in Newberg, Oregon. We got up about 1:30am and were on the road by 3am. We got here about 4:30pm.. what a cute little town. I'll show more pictures tomorrow.
However, we passed this very clean small town called St Peter. Here is the church. It is at the end of a big street and is defiantly the town landmark.

Everywhere we go, we see these beautiful hanging flower baskets.. I don't think we could keep these alive in Groveland this time of year!

After we checked in and took a much needed nap.. it was out to explore.
This is the really neat town of McMinnville. I loved the downtown area. The pictures don't do it justice.. I could live here!!

Tomorrow it's off to the airport where Ash is hoping to learn to be a helicopter pilot. Later for now!

Sorry to be gone so long.. but I'm back! After the visit from Alex and Ricky, I was then invited to join the crew as the TQS Treasure Chest... person. I"m just Bunny Rose on the show.. but I look for cool stuff for quilters and contact the company that makes it. They send us enough to give to the studio audience to take home and try. I talk about the products and show how they work. I have been to La Veta once so far and am going back in September to film 4 more shows. I'm having a wonderful time looking for stuff to show off.

The smoke has been a downer here in the mountains. Business has been down and boy the town is quiet! None of the fires are very close but we do get our share of the smoky air.
Later for now.. Let me know what your favorite quilter tools are... I just may show them on the TQS Treasure Chest.. look for me soon! Join today! The Quilt Show

I'm Back!

Sorry I haven't been putting any new blogs on lately. I spent the last two nights tossing and turning with Restless Leg Syndrome... not fun. I maybe got 2 or 3 hours sleep. So blogging was not on the top of my list. Thankfully last night I got a good nights sleep so I'm ready to go again.
I just got back from a wonderful musical in Sonora at the Sonora Repertory Theater. It was called Alter Boys.. very cute. If you ever have a chance to see it.. go!
I thought you might like to meet another friend of mine. Her name is Karen and she owns "Seasons Gifts" here in Groveland. Here she is working hard.
